What?
By law (Ontario Regulation 319/20 under the Crown Forest Sustainability Act), The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) requires forest management units be audited at least once every ten to twelve years.
These Independent Forest Audits (IFA) are conducted by independent audit firms selected through a competitive process. Both the Forest manager and MNRF District is audited.
When?
The Independent Forest Audit preparation has begun, with a field audit scheduled to take place September 18-22, 2023.
Where?
The Gordon Cosens Forest is located in the in Hearst Cochrane Kapuskasing District in the Northeast Region of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry.
