Independent Forest Audit – Nagagami Forest

What?
By law (Ontario Regulation 319/20 under the Crown Forest Sustainability Act), The Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) requires forest management units be audited at least once every ten to twelve years.
These Independent Forest Audits (IFA) are conducted by independent audit firms selected through a competitive process. Both the Forest Manager and MNR are audited. The audit for the Nagagami Forest has been awarded to Caliber Forestry Consulting.
When?
The Independent Forest Audit preparation has begun, with a field audit scheduled to take place June 24-27, 2026.
Where?
The Nagagami Forest is in the Chapleau-Wawa District in the Northeast Region of the Ministry of Natural Resources.
Forest management processes including the preparation of the 2021-2031 Forest Management Plan and all forest management operations conducted on the Nagagami Forest between April 1, 2017, and March 31, 2026, will be audited.
